Cement Truck Rollover at 11000 W. Sunset Blvd.

SCENARIO
Three vehicle Traffic Accident involving a Fully Loaded Cement Truck.  The Cement Truck, driving E/B on Sunset Blvd. hit a passenger vehicle and rolled onto its right side into the intersection at Veteran Ave. The cement truck slid into another passenger vehicle on Veteran Ave. turning right onto Sunset Blvd.

OPERATIONS
The first arriving companies assessed the area and determined the number of vehicles involved, number of injured patients, and requested appropriate resources. 

Total Patients:  Four
Two patients transported to UCLA Hospital
One patient transported to St. Johns Hospital
One patient AMA.

RECOVERY
The incident was causing a severe traffic problem and was backing up Sunset Blvd.  LAFD resources remained on scene to oversee the upright operation of the Cement Truck.  LAFD Heavy Rescue 56 worked with LAPD's Heavy Equipment Operators (Heavy Wreckers) and DOT. LAPD provided two heavy wreckers.  It was a collaborated effort between LAPD and LAFD to upright the cement truck. The cement truck was carrying a full load of cement (10 yards) approximately 20,000 pounds. (See pictures) The three wreckers were able to upright the cement truck. Once up-righted, the incident was turned over to LAPD Traffic division.
